Vision
Our vision is a world in which capable young Nigerians and other Africans contribute fully to agricultural, rural and general economic and social development at the national and regional levels through enhanced access to quality research and scholarship.
 
   
Mission
Our mission is to contribute to agricultural and general economic and social development through individual and institutional capacity building of Nigerian and other African researchers and scholars below the age of 40 years, with emphasis on, but not limited to, financial support.
 
   
Goals  
1. Support outstanding scholarship and research by deserving Nigerians and other Africans, regardless of place of  
  ethnic or geographical origin, sex or creed, in selected priority areas and themes through performance-based prizes, scholarships, fellowships, conference support, grants, awards, etc.  
     
2.

Pioneer innovative ways of supporting the active participation of young Nigerian and other African researchers

 
  and scholars in the global knowledge community  
     
3. Assist with capacity development of young Nigerian and other African researchers and scholars in writing  
  winning proposals for research grants from domestic and external sources  
     
4. Assist individuals and institutions to overcome the negative impact of academic in-breeding caused by steep  
  falls in real budgetary resources for research and scholarship and the drastic devaluation fo the naira  
     
5. Provide special assistance to women researchers and scholars  
     
6. Provide a forum for the exchange of information on best practices  
     
7. Deepen and democratize access to global resources for research and scholarship through appropriate  
  networking and leveraging of funds from related foundations and other grant sources, and  
     
8. At the local level, provide a performance-based incentive and rewards system to encourage academic  
  excellence through prizes and awards to Igala students at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education
